Chris Altomari's career began with a cold call.
As a college student, she had read that Director John Huston's son, Danny, would be directing his first feature in her home state of Rhode Island, specifically Newport. The MR. NORTH cast included: Lauren Bacall, Anthony Edwards, Anjelica Huston, Virginia Madsen, and Robert Mitchum. Chris called the production office, spoke with the Production Coordinator, and said she could type 85wpm and handle heavy phones.

Sight unseen she was hired as a production secretary and learned quickly the difference between a call sheet (the 2nd AD would dictate from a pay phone) and daily production reports. Her first day on the job was a Saturday. As she drove over the Braga Bridge, the sun barely in the sky, to the east hot air balloons floated through the early morning haze. Within a week, the Production Coordinator returned to Los Angeles to have her second child-and John Huston died on a rainy, muggy August morning. Chris traveled John Huston home to Los Angeles-air freight, 640.00, one way. Two years later, after graduating from college, the same Production Coordinator called on a snowy February day with a job offer-would Chris be interested in moving west. Since then Chris has worked her way up on commercials, documentaries, studio and indie features, and TV projects, 13 on location, a partial notable list includes BUDDY, PRINCESS DIARIES, THE GREAT RAID, NEIL YOUNG: HEART OF GOLD, THE VILLAGE, TAKING CHANCE, RANGO, SOME FREAKS, GONE ARE THE DAYS, and HARMONQUEST. Throughout Chris still pursues her dream of working on shows featuring the cast and crew from THE GODFATHER trilogy; to date those would include Francis Ford Coppola, John Savage, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall, Talia Shire, Gianni Russo, and Harry Dean Stanton.
